Another big release from last week is from P.Nation’s Crush, in collaboration with Hyundai Card service, with the single “Digital Lover.”

The single was released on February 20 along with its MV, which depicts a very lonely future that is out of this world. It is also reminiscing of the famous old video game, Galaga — I love how it portrays the journey of the main character in the MV.

Lyrically, “Digital Lover” is about how we have become more, what’s a good word, introverted? In the sense that we have become too wary of everyone else, their intentions, their real feelings. Everyone seems to lie. Everyone is only now looking out for themselves without really caring how and who they hurt, all in the name of “protecting themselves.” We feel more safe meeting and interacting with others through a screen. It makes us feel like we are more in control of things, but are we really?

The world outside is dangerous | 저 바깥 세상은 위험해
Full of people obsessed with faking happiness | 행복한 모습만 보이려고 안달 난 것 같아
On the corner of my bed, serene with my arm as a pillow | 침대 모퉁이 위 고요한 내 팔 베개가
Paradise with no lies | 거짓없는 paradise
I know you’re the same way | 너도 마찬가지잖아
Controlling this square of a world with my thumb | 엄지 손가락으로 네모난 세상을 조종할 때가

Crush always has a way to express such deep emotion in his lyrics and music. He never disappoints.

What did you think of the MV?
