“Atlantis Princess.” “Girls On Top.” “ Eat You Up.” “Hurricane Venus.” “Eien (永遠 | Eternity).”

These are all timeless classics of one of South Korea’s greatest veteran singers and a pioneer of K-Pop in the global market, 보아(BoA).

At age thirteen, the OG Queen of K-Pop debuted back in August 25th, 2000 with the album “ID; Peace B.” Little did she know that this album, which reached the Top 10 charts in South Korea, would be the beginning of a very successful career.

With August already here, that only means BoA is quickly approaching the 20th anniversary of her debut. To celebrate, her long-time home agency, SMTOWN (SM Entertainment), is paying homage to her success with the launch of a special project: “Our Beloved BoA.”

The project consists of various artists who will remake some of BoA’s biggest classics. On July 31st, EXO’s BaekHyun became the first runner of the project with the cover of the 2005 track “Garden in the Air” or “공중정원” from her fifth studio album, “Girls On Top.”

A live version of BaekHyun covering the song was released along with the digital single. The EXO member takes a clean, R&B route for his version of the song. His soft vocals sound so amazing in this tribute, perfect for a chill night with a glass of red wine in hand.

Other artists that will be contributing to the project include Red Velvet, BOL4, and Gallant. Although dates for the releases are yet to be announced, the covers will be available on SM Station’s digital platform.

What a throwback….
