Unless you’re part of the climate doomer club, the rest of us understand that a collective shift towards eco-conscious living is essential. Though a certain wise frog has long warned us of the challenges of leading a green life, if we wish to sustain the joys of life on Earth, we must prioritize sustainability in as much of our daily lives as possible. Deforestation and air and ocean pollution are persistent issues rapidly contributing to the rapid environmental decline. However, these negative impacts have spurred a rejuvenation, a renaissance in our everyday habits and the essence of all that furnish our lives.

In this renaissance, we’ve started inviting colors and accents reminiscing of nature into our homes. Earthy tones, such as sienna, vanilla, and oak, evoke a sense of balance and peace in a room. Even the official Pantone color for 2024, Fuzzy Peach, is of a gorgeous earth palette. Trendy styles such as boho, tropical, and coastal styles commonly feature wicker, giving cozy and warm feelings. These are most appealing in sunrooms and patios thanks to their natural appearance. Though most people use the terms “wicker” and “rattan” interchangeably, it is important to note that these are not synonyms.

Rattan is wicker, but not the other way around.
